Happiness presentations review
Happiness Presentations Review by Jamie Hidalgo
Each presentation had a theme but the overall theme of this assignment was happiness. Group one’s presentation is about good eating- “heart, mind , and body” which is all you need to know about food and good eating that also affects your overall health. Group two’s presentation is about paying it forward a term that essentially means good karma. When you pay it forward you're doing something nice for someone else and it's repaid to you by either the same person or someone else. As for group three’s presentation it talks about self care which is when you understand your body and cater to it because it is very important for the human mind and body. These presentations were very interesting and I learned so much from them and was a bit inspired too.
To begin with, group one's presentation was very colorful and well put together overall. There are 30 slides in total and each slide in this presentation is unique to the topic they were talking about, showing the amount of work that went into it. Each slide has pictures that relate to what's being talked about and were equally as creative with the graphs. I was really impressed with how they organized the interview portion. I was interested in it, and the professionals they spoke with were perfect for the questions they were asking. It's probably one of my favorite slides in the entire presentation. Group one’s presentation is about eating well and how it relates to the heart, mind, and body. They start their presentation talking about the national and local perspective of eating well then move onto the history of eating well which provides a list of nutrient -rich foods that can support brain health. I found it helpful to know that things I enjoy eating like fruits can help with my memory and cognitive function. I'm glad to hear that I can maintain my health and still enjoy my favorite foods. Furthermore they talked about supporting sustainable living which piqued my interest because the slide talks about how the way we eat could also affect the environment, so when we eat less processed food and waste less we are doing good not only for our bodies but we are preserving earth's resources. Moreover when you select foods that are produced properly and locally it helps reduce our carbon footprint. I thought this sounded like an amazing way to help our environment and it's definitely something people should start doing in my opinion. Group one’s presentation was very informative and I learned a lot of things I want to keep in mind when it comes to my eating.
Moving onto group two even though it was a short presentation I feel like it said everything it needed to say and still has a lot of information people can learn from. The presentation was nice with these bright colors and I enjoyed doing my part in the presentation which was making the study guide. Even though it looks simple, I thought it looked friendly and inviting like the overall theme we had of paying it forward. Group twos presentation is about paying it forward and it means the concept of responding to a kind action or favor by doing something kind to someone else. The presentation slides consist of what it means, then explaining the chain reaction paying it forward causes essentially stating that its and ongoing cycle like the domino effect that when you do something nice for someone that person will want to do something nice for the next person and then so on so forth and i think is so amazing that people, strangers even see something like that and would want to reciprocate the feeling someone else gave them onto someone else just to help out. Following that slide is a slide stating how you can pay it forward with examples on how you can pay it forward ranging from a simple nice compliment to a stranger or someone you know to doing something bigger like arranging a beach clean up. This is one of my favorite slides of the presentations because when you read the examples you probably never realized that you paid it forward before and possibly made someone's day. Before this project I never knew what paying it forward ment but after researching about it i realized that i have paid it forward many times in the past and want to continue doing so hoping to start another wave of people doing something kind for someone else. I enjoyed making this presentation with my group and feel like the presentation went well because we still got the message across that when you pay it forward it contributes to building a better society by promoting kindness.
Last but not least group three once again was very put together and beautiful. Every slide was colorful and thought through and it made me enjoy learning about self care. Each slide had its own uniqueness about it and was full of information. Group three's presentation was about self care. When I think about self care I think about doing something nice for myself and apparently it is something like that. Their slides consisted of ways that really are self care like sleep, exercise, eating and going out to eat, and meditation. What I learned from them was that as you reduce your stress and take care of yourself like eating well and sleeping well it is considered self care. Furthermore their other slides talk about ways to reduce stress and its negative effects which I feel may relate to why people need to do more self care. My favorite slides in this presentation are the slides about sleep because not only did i find out that sleep is a form of self care that helps with being physically and mentally healthy i found out that sleep needs vary by person. In addition to that, the next slide gives us a chart showing how much sleep is recommended according to age which I found to be really interesting to know.
In conclusion the overall theme of this project is happiness overall for yourself or others. Self care, good eating, and paying it forward are ways to produce happiness around you and within you. These presentations were all very informative and I've learned so much from them that I plan to try to use what I learned here and implement it in my daily life.
