Presentations Review
Presentations Review
I think all three of the presentations were very well written and informative. They had various topics to talk about that were organized perfectly making it easy so everyone can understand. To begin with I enjoyed the group 1 presentation because they had a nice green theme which I feel is important when you have presentations because it grabs peoples attention which is good and keeps the audience interested especially when you include graphs and pictures so everyone can understand what you're talking about further. Group 1 talks about intercultural communications which essentially means the communication between people from two different cultures. Their slides consist of information on race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, and religion. They all explain how these things in people play a part in culture and communication. One thing I found to be interesting from this presentation was the sex and gender slide that talks about how males and females communicate. Group 1 presented professionally and straight to the point, and everyone had an opportunity to speak and explain the slides, which is always good to have all of your group members explain some part of what they worked on.This presentation was truly amazing with every slide having a nice picture. It was all colorful and fun yet still gets to the point without distracting you.
moving on to group 2 even though it was my group i still feel i should speak about it. I really liked how the presentation turned out, all the colors really came together and the amount of information was just right. The main point of the presentation was about communicating in groups whether it is a group in your class project, your family, or your group of friends. There is always communication going on because then how would you get the work done for a project or just know what anyone is trying to tell you. No matter what group you're in it is always important to know how to get to the goal of being a healthy group and always remember that your group will go through conflicts and that's okay as long as you can resolve them in the end and come to a compromise. I think this is something that would be helpful to know in the future because this is for anyone at any point in time. As long as you're in a group this presentation will apply to you and you can apply these skills that you learn from the presentation to the groups and you would see how much it would grow.I really enjoyed the slide on stages of group development because, despite the fact that it is brief, it contains a lot of information. It talks about The stages of forming a group which are Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, and Adjourning. First of all, I thought it was quite creative that they all ended in ing. Second, this is a good thing to know when you are in groups because you can use it as a timestamp on where your group is currently, regardless of what you are working on. This is especially useful if your group has something due at a specific time and date and you just want to be organized and stay on top of everything. As far as speaking and the actual presentation goes I feel we all did really well and we were all informative and professional.
Last but not least, group 3's presentation is very interesting. They went for a dark look but still had full pictures in the back which still catches the reader's attention subtly. Much like group 2’s main idea it's also about groups only this talk about the leadership role and the problem solving aspects of groups. They talk about The Systematic Problem-Solving process which is a successful strategy for individual or group problem-solving that includes both tangible and intangible deliverables, such as written, spoken, and virtual goods. I really enjoyed the slide on task leadership roles because it splits the leadership roles into three sections of three different people so one person doesn't have to carry the leadership role by themselves. The three roles are givers seekers and analyzers. Givers provide content for discussion, seekers explore everyone's ideas in meetings and The analyzers question what is being said. This is very useful when you're in groups because it gives more people a specific job within the leadership role so then people in the groups are not only more comfortable but have something to do and it doesn't stress one person with all the jobs. Practice, reflective assessment, and revision can all help to improve group communication skills. Once you learn these skills your group will know how to be the best it can be! As for the presenting aspect of the presentation Group 3 presented in the same professional and organized manner as groups 1 and 2.
In conclusion, When working with people whether you know them or not you should always be mindful of many things but most importantly communication because without communication in your group nothing would work out the way it should. Splitting everyone's roles is important to do too so everyone can have the same amount of work and no one works more than the other to make everything fair. To have communication there should first be comfortability and respect within the group and regardless of having a leadership role you should always step in and give out any ideas and feedback you have. When giving feedback and speaking your mind in the group you should try to be respectful and nice about it even though constructive criticism is good people sometimes take it badly which leads to problems. If there were to be a problem within the group it's okay to have them every group does but it's important to resolve it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Everyone should always have fun sharing their ideas and working together with others.
